SGM hi-res video walls score heavily for Vision Media Systems

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Since the beginning of the year Vision Media Systems GmbH has been steadily building demand for its large inventory of SGM LS-3.75 ultra hi-res (3.75mm pixel pitch) video panels, capable of displaying crisp, high resolution images images from a suitable digital video source.

The flexibility of these panels has been proved time and time again. Working for a leading brand manufacturer Vision Media Systems GmbH put on a display at a major product and business awards ceremony in Davos, Switzerland. Since for space reasons projection was out of the question, the brand new 3.75 mm LED wall modules were used in a special panoramic format, with a 3.5 x 7.2m display in 896 x 1920 pixel resolution, conforming to the Coolux Pandora’s Box controller.

Two months later in Barcelona, the SGM LS-3.75 was used again by the Neuss based production company, this time for a design by Vienna based advertising agency, Contemporary Communication by Christoph Svoboda. The customer, a global player in consumer products, wanted to demonstrate the relationship of its global service centres in a meeting of their international management.

Vision Media Systems built a system consisting of a total of 260 SGM high-resolution LS3.75 LED panels in five towers each of 16 and 36 panels which were visible on all sides. It depicted a world map, with several touchscreen controls to initiate graphic visualisation of data/information flow; it could be seen from everywhere in the hall and was controlled by several Coolux Pandoras Box processors. All the under-floor cabling was specially customised beneath the false floor in one of the rooms.

Finally, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Reuter Online Stores, Inc. an SGM LED wall was built by Vision Media Systems in the stadium of Borussia Mönchengladbach so that their specially created content appeared clearly even in daylight conditions. Both this, and the subsequent transmission of the World Cup matches the same evening, received the unqualified approval of both the customer and guests.

Stated Michael Herweg, CEO of SGM Germany, "The appearance of the 3.75mm panel is always homogeneous even at very short viewing distances, and as a result of the rear connection, transitions or bezels between the modules are virtually invisible — an absolute criterion for high-quality events.”
