Romanian technical producer and rental company, FIVE’S International, has had a busy 2015 with a high level of activities. In order to solve many of the tasks commissioned, FIVE’S made good use of their SGM inventory consisting of the advanced LED portfolio.
With a high amount of IP65-rated SGM products, FIVE’S have been able to undertake outdoor events with ease. General Manager, Andrei Popéa, explains: “The certainty and reliability of the IP65-rating allow us to use the fixtures even during rainy days.”
With an unpredictable summer now far behind us, FIVE’S look back at some great events – some more wet than others.
The International Folklore Festival “Music and Traditions in Cismigiu” received SGM P-5 wash lights, Q-7 flood blind strobes and SixPack blinders from FIVE’S, who have undertaken all technical aspects of this event since its very first edition. Lighting designers Alin Popa and Petre Ghergut worked the luminares together with production manager Marius Teodosiu.
“We chose the SGM fixtures because of their low power consumption and the impressive luminous output, which allowed us to illuminate the entire park and the stages on a professional level,” says Andrei Popéa.
With their first time usage of a tunnel-stage from Eurotruss, the SixPacks and Q-7 luminaires created a colourful roof above the public. “The client was happy with the created effects and this way we managed to satisfy everyone while also raising the bar in terms of quality,” he states.
At Gala Premiilor Uniter held by the Theatrical Union of Romania, artists are awarded prizes for distinctive performances selected by an esteemed jury. These festivities also called for SGM’s LED luminaires both outside for façade illumination by P-5 wash lights and inside on stage by Q-7 and SixPacks. Again, the IP classification of the P-5s was essential and no domes were needed.
SGM’s IP65-rating eliminates damaging particles
At Greensounds festival in Herastrau Park in Bucharest, more than 40,000 people enjoyed the musical atmosphere of Romanian and international bands of all genres for a three-day open-air event.
Organized by Bucharest City Hall and CreArT (Centre for Creation, Art and Tradition) and produced by NOA Event, FIVE’S participated with the supply of a huge SGM lighting package consisting of no less than 6 x G-Spot moving heads, 4 x P-5 wash lights, 4 x Q-7 flood blind strobe, 36 x SixPack blinders, 12 x X-5 white LED strobes and 8 x XC-5 colour LED strobes for lighting designer Daniel Klinger and production manager Stefan Botea.
At festivals not just rain or humidity can prove an obstacle for lighting fixtures, but also the dust, dirt and sand whirling in the air as many people are gathered to dance to the music. The IP65-rating of the SGM’s products also eliminates the accumulation of these damaging particles, as they cannot enter the luminaire. This reduces the maintenance and cleaning cost significantly and enhance the longevity of the lights.
Thereby, the G-Spot LED moving heads could be placed on the edge of the stage without any worries and without having to use bulky domes, allowing them to offer full power on their lumen output.
