In connection with Aalborg Architecture Festival 2017 | ALAFx17, SGM fixtures were enhancing several architectural treasures.
An unplanned, however, nonetheless interesting challenge, was the illumination of the City and Landscape Administration building located at Stigsborg, which is the new waterfront located in Nørresundby across The Utzon Center on the Aalborg shore.
Coincidentally, Kurt Bennetsen, who is responsible for the partitioning and expansion of the Stigsborg area, came by, when a SGM employee was testing a light installation at The Utzon Center. He asked:
“Would it be be possible to highlight Stigsborg from over here? Across the fjord, I mean. The area is so dark - and it would be great to put some focus and attention to it.”
The SGM employee succeeded in creating a sharply defined marking of the the City and Landscape Administration building. All he needed to do the trick were four G-1 Beams and one single i-2 RED wash light, spiced up with inputs for levels and tone adjustments from ÅF Lighting that were carrying out the light design and installation for The Utzon Center.
