Recently teaming up with Volt Lites, SGM is pleased to announce that the P-1 wash light will now be available to rent in the Los Angeles area. The P-1 is a battery-driven, compact and maintenance-free RGBW LED luminaire with an IP-rating of 65 making it perfect for indoor/outdoor applications. At the same time, it offers a great versatility in effects combining a wash, a blinder and a strobe in one small chassis.
“The P-1 fills a diverse slot in our inventory. The size, versatility, light quality and the ability to survive in the elements is unmatched in the marketplace,” stated Harrison Lippman, Co-Founder of Volt Lites.
Volt Lites invested in a large stock of fixtures and snap-on medium and wide filters, adding yet another layer of versatility. With a native beam angle of 10° and filters of 19° and 45°, the P-1 can be used for all entertainment and architectural needs.
“We love the easy-to-navigate user interface and quick-swap lens system. Additionally, we appreciate the ease of use for our clients. The high PWM adjustments and rich color saturation makes this fixture ideal for use in film and television environments as well,” concluded Matt Shimamoto, Co-Founder of Volt Lites.
The P-1 has been in high demand globally ever since the launch of the fixture last year. Volt Lites has already rented out 60 fixtures for a project to support Los Angeles as candidate city for the Olympic Games 2024.
One participating location was the Disney Water Tower. Lighting Designer Brian Gale needed a small, bright and IP-rated fixture that could achieve a wide range of colors surrounding the water tower’s catwalk.
“The SGM P-1 answered that request perfectly and performed nightly for a full week. The Olympic colors of ambers and deep congo blues, were achieved with the P-1 and used to create a gradient chase of colors that rolled around the tower adding dynamics and interest. The tower could be viewed from surrounding surface streets and from the 134 Freeway,” explained Matt Shimamoto, who programmed the lighting for this installation.
Filippo Frigeri, Director of SGM Lighting Inc. has high hopes of the new cooperation with Volt Lites. “We look forward to building a strong business relationship with Volt Lites and to many more upcoming projects and events for the greater LA area. The potential is huge and Volt Lites infuses the expertise and visions we are looking for in a SGM partner.”
