With the slogan: ‘Life is a beach’ the tenth edition of the Oldenbora House Music Open Air Festival took place in Oldenburg in the north of Germany, exclusively lit by SGM fixtures.
For the occasion, the beach club Nethen was transformed into a mediterranean party paradise full of SGM fixtures, specifically 31 P-5 LED wash lights, 22 P-2s, 20 Q-7s, 16 SixPacks and finally 20 G-1 Beams. Mario Küpke, head Lighting Designer at Oldenbora decided to go exclusively for SGM fixtures.
For one day, the venue that is otherwise known as a popular spot for watersports, turned into a hotspot for electronic music, where an international line-up of musicians and DJs performed across three stages. Putting together an event of this scale called for a strong team effort. WPB Veranstaltungstechnik KG was responsible for planning all the equipment on the three stages at Oldenbora. Event Director Florian Zängler said:
“It is crucial for us to work with partners that we can rely on. Without reliability, no event.”
During the execution phase they rely heavily on local partnerships. For concept and installation of lighting Bremen-based company Active Blue was brought in. Mathias Wulf, Managing Director of WPB Veranstaltungstechnik KG said:
“Active Blue developed a convincing lighting concept that impressed the audience – not only during the evening hours of the festival, but also during the daylight hours.”
