To strengthen the company’s sales activities in Latin America, SGM Light is happy to announce that Tony Magaña has joined the company as Sales Director for Latin America. Meanwhile, Chris Barker has been appointed as Specifications Manager for Installs in the USA.
Latin America has long been important for SGM and by hiring Tony Magaña the company hopes to support this key region better. With more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Tony will be a fantastic addition to the SGM Team. “I’m returning to my roots – lighting. And what better way of doing that, than joining SGM Light, a company with great values and convictions. This is an exciting challenge and I’m looking forward to be a part of this new chapter of SGM Light,” says Tony.

Adding another layer of success to our quality efforts will be Chris Barker. He’s been appointed as Specifications Manager for Installs at SGM USA. In this newly created role, Chris will be reporting directly to Doug Tuttrup, VP of Sales for Installs, and working with the permanent installation team, bringing energy, experience and passion to assist consultants, integrators, representatives, and specifiers in bringing designs and projects to life.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Lighting Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University. Before joining SGM, he worked as a project manager for a major architectural lighting firm in New York and themed entertainment lighting design firm in Chicago. Prior to that, he held various positions as a manufacturer’s representative and an industry-leading lighting manufacturer.
