SGM Academy

SGM Light launches an online training academy

The Academy will consist of a series of videos as well as online presentations and seminars over the coming weeks, with topics relating to lighting terminology, software programs and more.

Currently, our industry as a whole is facing incredibly challenging times due to the spread of COVID-19. As many of us are now self-isolating, working remotely, or have a reduction in workloads, we are all struggling to continue as normal. Many of us, from rental companies, production companies and agencies, lighting designers, programmers, technicians, crew and the many more, are having to find new ways to continue working and are finding time – something that normally is in short supply.

One thing that we at SGM feel that we can do to support our colleagues, partners, and customers, is to offer training and outlets for us to share and impart knowledge, not only related to our product range but lighting in general and as a whole. We feel that the sharing of these ideas and information will help with learning and working more effectively and with greater knowledge when life goes back to normal. Therefore, we are starting the SGM Academy.

The Academy will consist of a series of videos as well as online presentations and seminars over the coming weeks, with topics relating to lighting terminology, software programs and more. We’ll cover a range of theoretical and practical topics, some for the beginners, some for the advanced. We hope you’ll find the content useful! If you have any specific questions, let us know and it might just become the topic of one of our upcoming clips.

With the majority of us working from home, including the various SGM teams across the globe, feel free to call us to have a chat, ask us how we are so we can ask you the same, and we can catch up about any topic you like. In these times, more so than ever, without our usual outlets for face-to-face contact that our industry is so heavily based upon, communicating/talking/sharing/laughing with one another will help us all to get to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Stay safe and take care,

The SGM Team
