Champions League Kickoff Show Enhanced by SGM VPL and P-6
One of the biggest sporting events every year, the UEFA Champions League final, had an amazing kickoff show with world-renowned artists Burna Boy, Anitta, and Alesso. A lot of different stakeholders were involved in putting together this massive production, which only lasted for six minutes, before the kickoff of the game. With the match being broadcasted to around 450 million people worldwide, this show had to represent the importance and ambition of the game, and SGM Light fixtures took center stage in this spectacular show.
SGM VIDEO PIXEL LINEAR PROVIDES THE STAR IN THE STARBURST STAGE
Lighting designer Al Gurdon used 148 SGM VPL 1220s and 12 VPL 610s for the starburst stage, which created an eye-catching display of the striking pixel mapping. The VPL is designed to create powerful pixel mapping and media effects as seen in this production. It is a powerful and versatile tool for linear and radial installations where high visibility and a very flexible setup are essential. This easily integrated fixture is suitable for a wide range of applications, including media façades, tours, stadiums, theme parks or just about any fixed or temporary installation.
ONLY 120 SGM P-6s TO ILLUMINATE THE SPECTACULAR ATATÜRK OLYMPIC STADION
The incredible venue located in Istanbul, Turkey, can host up to 75,000 people and has hosted many special events. But despite the size of the magnificent stadium, the production team only needed 120 of our P-6 fixtures to create a beautiful wash effect on the entire stadium. The P-6 combines the compact size and low power consumption of the P-5 series with improved optics and the robust design of the powerful P-10. This all-in-one LED luminaire features pixel-mapping control, long-throw capabilities with a native 10º front lens, and all the benefits of magnetic easy-fit filter frames for different beam angles.
